About

I am a research analyst in Indianapolis, Indiana. One of my hobbies is to explore various data sources while learning new technical skills for analyzing and visualizing data. This blog is where I post some of the odds and ends that I come up with through this process. I don't anticipate posting any weighty, meaningful analyses here; my focus here is more on techniques for visualizing data, as well as finding new and interesting data sources.

This is my personal blog; the content posted here and views expressed here are mine.

    Why is data visualization important?

Because of the way the human brain processes information, using charts or graphs to visualize large amounts of complex data is easier than poring over spreadsheets or reports. Data visualization is a quick, easy way to convey concepts in a universal manner – and you can experiment with different scenarios by making slight adjustments.

One of the most important beneļ¬ts of visualization is that it allows us visual access to huge amounts of data in easily digestible visuals. Well designed data graphics are usually the simplest and at the same time, the most powerful.

Visualization aids memory, so double your chances for remembering the material by visualizing.
